Eventually the whole world was saddened by thetragic death of President Roosevelt; but his memory ispreserved in philately by scores of postage stamps issuedby many nations including our own, in his honor. It isfitting tribute to the man who did so much to promotethe hobby he loved so well. The International Philatelic Exhibitions held in NewYork City every ten years are but part of a series of suchgreat International stamp exhibitions held by many na-tions throughout the world. Hardly a year passes withoutsome important international show taking place in somepart of the world. Such Exhibitions have been held inGreat Britain, France, Luxembourg, Belgium, Switzer-land, Austria, Germany, Israel, Philippines, Cuba, Bra-zil, Uruguay, India and South Africa, to mention but afew. Thus in no small measure stamp collectors con-tribute to the common goal of international good-willby all thinking people. |
