Many collectors, and especially beginners, simply re-quest the dealer to send "approvals." In such cases thedealer will send selections of stamps he has available atregular intervals until such time as you request him tocease. You make whatever selections you wish from thestamps that are sent and return the balance together withyour remittance for those you have retained. Very few
dealers will send you approvals unless you have asked forthem. Actually approvals are consignments and remainthe property of the dealer sending them until such timeas you either return or pay for them. The responsibilityof returning them in good order and promptly in accord-ance with the stated terms, rests upon you, and thisresponsibility should not be taken lightly. Remember,you have requested the stamps, the dealer has acceptedyou as a responsible "credit risk," so do not destroy thiscredit. As you go along it will become one of your mostvaluable assets. |
