The flag of Denmark appears onone of the "over-run nations" stamps.
Sometimes, as in the case of the series of stampsissued by the United States to commemorate the OverrunNations of the world, a combination of lithography andsteel engraving has been used to attain more than twocolors. It was decided to illustrate in color the flag ofeach nation pictured on the stamps. The stamps wereprinted by the American Bank Note Company as this firmwas experienced in and equipped to perform this com-pound process required. In this instance the flags in colorwere printed by a lithographic (offset) process and laterthe frames of the stamps were printed from steel-engraved
