Stamp Albums : Page 104

First, the album should be loose-leaf. For albumswhich are printed on both sides of the page (as most allare) this feature may not be readily understood. Whetheror not supplements are to be issued for such albums, theloose-leaf feature allows you to do several things notpossible with the bound book. First, it allows you toinsert blank pages wherever you wish to take care ofnewly issued stamps or of stamps you may acquire forwhich no spaces have been provided in the album. Thisis a very important feature for without it your album isout of date the minute you acquire it. Second, it allowsyou to acquire new binders when your album grows toobig, so you may expand your album to suit your col-lecting activities. Third, it allows you properly to insertinterleaving between the pages of your album—a de-sirable attribute especially for albums printed on bothsides of the page. The interleaving will keep the stampson opposite pages from locking together and, thus, fromtearing when you turn the pages. Fourth, it allows youto remove sections of the album for display, exhibiting,or rearrangement according to your own desires.
