Quite naturally, it was not long after the United Nationshad established its headquarters in New York City thatit issued a series of postage stamps. Such stamps can notbe used anywhere in the world for the prepayment ofpostage except in the single Post Office at the UN build-ing in New York.
Since the first issue of 1951 the UN Postal Adminis-tration has produced over a score of different issues tocommemorate the various activities of the parent or-ganization. The issues are carefully and regularly pre-pared and issued in limited quantity which has madethem quite attractive to a multitude of collectors. |
