It was announced that this man wouldgladly examine any stamps anyone might wish to sendhim and that he would inform them of the value of suchstamps. As might be expected, this fellow's office wasliterally swamped with letters and packages from all overthe nation. Thousands upon thousands of persons wrotein and sent stamps hopeful that theirs would "hit thejackpot." So many packages were received that help wasrequired to open and examine them all and for monthscollectors and professionals dropped in to help in thesearch for the "great find." Surely among this great massof letters and old documents there must be something of
